Combe Martin reputedly has the longest village street in England. The Wild Pear Centre is towards the seaward end of it, beyond the Church and the Pack O’ Cards Inn, and opposite a high stone wall and steps leading to public footpaths to the Hangman Hills and Wild Pear Beach.

• By public transport: Go to Barnstaple by train, then it’s a half-hour journey by car, taxi or local bus.

• By car: At M5 Jct 27, take the A361 North Devon Link Road towards Barnstaple. Near South Molton, turn off onto the A399 to Blackmoor Gate and Combe Martin.
